Salus Case Study by activHR Consulting

Salus is one of the largest NHS based multi-disciplinary teams of professionals in Scotland and are committed to providing the highest quality Occupational Health & Safety services to their diverse clients. Established in 1995, Salus supplies comprehensive Occupational Health & Safety services to both the NHS and industry across the United Kingdom. As Salus have continued plans for growth and expansion they required a software system that would allow the Contact Team to record absences when reported to them and to record each and every subsequent contact made with employees, building up a case history that could be easily reviewed and reported upon.

A prerequisite of the system was the ability to set up a new client database easily, import existing client employee details, which has meant that they’re self-sufficient and able to be fully operational with a new client company quickly and without having to resort to expensive consultancy ongoing.

The new system supports the operational processes which allows for the recording of information against all individual cases of absence.  The strict guidelines governing the absence management procedures, with associated ‘trigger points’ allows a case to be appropriately referred onto the employee’s GP, occupational health, or other sources at the correct time, all of which needed to be recorded and reviewed. A comprehensive report writing tool offers a variety of statistical reports for overall analysis and for presentation purposes enabling professional feedback to client organisations, as required.
