Mungo Foundation upgrade

The Mungo Foundation, formerly the Community Social Services Department of the Archdiocese of Glasgow, an independent organisation in the voluntary sector, have adopted the People Inc. HR system from P&A Software. 

The establishment of The Mungo Foundation, in April 2004, builds on a long and successful tradition of the Archdiocese of Glasgow in providing innovative social care services and responding to unmet need and social exclusion and have 30 years’ experience of providing quality person-centred services to individuals of all ages with wide ranging and complex support needs.

Today, The Mungo Foundation employs 840 staff who support around 1,500 service users in a diverse range of services throughout the West of Scotland.

Over recent years, The Mungo Foundation have relied upon and stretched the usefulness of its existing HR database and have had to find many workarounds to cater for additional requirements that the system simply couldn't accommodate. A multitude of peripheral systems, such as Microsoft Access and Excel, were being used to record employee related information that the legacy HR system wouldn't allow for; the array of systems being used quickly became costly to housekeep and maintain, and overall was considered an unintelligent way of working.

With employee data brought together into the one new system, all day to day HR administrative processes are now streamlined and automated. Additional product functionality was required to deliver capability in specific areas, such as recruitment & resourcing, training & development and performance management - the new People Inc. system has standard functionality that caters for these subjects but can also be enhanced and configured further to ensure the functional fit is as close to 100% as possible.
